“Don’t Go Extinct!” like the Dinosaurs did

“Don’t go extinct!”, a velociraptor pleades to UN delegates, in this clever UN produced video. The video highlights the imperative need to end subsidizing fossil fuels. The United Nations Development Programme video reminds delegates, “Fossil fuel subsidy reforms would contribute to reducing CO2 emissions and benefit human health and well-being”.

Governor Cox, Utah Congressional delegation, and the members of the Utah Legislature, we agree with the velociraptor. Utah needs to contribute to the imperative of humanity not going extinct, rather than contributing to a climate crisis that is quickly driving us there. Stop the inland port, stop issuing permits for more dirty energy drilling in the Uinta Basin, stop the fantasy of shipping Utah coal to be burned in Asia, stop with the fantasy of consuming all the water we want by building more pipelines.
