Doctors Implore Utahns to follow COVID Restrictions

We at UPHE full heartedly agree with the urgency of this request from Utah healthcare workers, published in the Salt Lake Tribune. Community members need to do their part to help get the pandemic under control and prevent more needless deaths.

With Utah’s hospitals maxing out both bed space and options to recruit more doctors and nurses, doctors on Monday said the state’s new mask order and gathering restrictions could not wait another day.

“I would submit we are at the tipping point today,” said Dr. Mark Briesacher, chief physician executive at Intermountain Healthcare. “We are beyond our normal capacity for caring for patients.”
