A bill to reduce noise pollution

Representative Gay Lynn Bennion is sponsoring a bill that will help address noise pollution, which is an increasing problem along the Wasatch Front. Believe it or not, noise pollution has much of the same health consequences associated with air pollution.

A quick e-mail to the members of the committee where this bill will get its first hearing could go a long way in paving the way to protecting residents from the hazards of noise pollution. Ask them to prioritize the request for $216,600 for the “Noise Camera Pilot Program” proposed in HB 95

Motorcycles with their pollution and noise control devices stripped are one of the biggest offenders. This bill is a first step to start cracking down on them.
