Free Fare Forever

Despite last year’s success, Free Fare February was reduced to just 10 days this year. Now through February 21st, all UTA services are free. The timeline at least lines up with the NBA events hosted by Salt Lake City this year, so if you are attending any of those, please take advantage of the services!
The Utah Legislative Clean Air Caucus unveiled an idea last week to make UTA free for a year. The success of last year’s Free Fare February inspired the idea, according to a KSL article. Every type of ridership went up that month.
“Sen. Todd Weiler, R-Woods Cross, is sponsoring an appropriations request from Gov. Spencer Cox for $25.5 million for free fare transit statewide for a year,” KSL reports.
Please call your Representatives and tell them we need free fares year-round!
