Forest Service pulls permit for Uinta Basin Railway

UPHE is proud to be part of the lawsuit against the proposed Uinta Basin Railway, whose very purpose is to quadruple the amount of climate-killing oil and gas that is shipped out of the Uinta Basin.

The railway’s cheerleaders faced another setback earlier this month when the Forest Service withdrew their approval for their 12-mile section of the 88-mile railway!

Not only is the Uinta Basin Railway a climate disaster, it would be a massive new source of region-wide air pollution, and any accident along the route could send oil into the Colorado River, contaminating the water supply of 40 million people. UPHE will continue this fight until this terrible idea is finally buried.
