Environmental Justice Gaining in SLC

Environmental justice is finally gaining traction in Salt Lake City. Daniel Mendoza, a former member of UPHE’s board, has an important article in the Catalyst on the issue of Environmental Justice.

There should be no difference in terms of environmental exposure across populations..the air that weathier people breathe should be the same as wealthy people breathe: noise pollution should be the same across all neighborhoods regardless of race…We all know that is not the case.

UPHE firmly stands with this statement. In the spirit of environmental justice, we promise to continue fighting for clean air, clean energy, and a clean future for all Utah residents.
