State Board of Education’s Curriculum on the Climate Crisis
The truth about the climate crisis should be taught to our children, in the public school system. But an organized and determined team of extreme right wing, climate denier parents decrying, “Education Without Representation” (EWR), have bullied their way into the decision making process, intimidating the Utah State Office of Education (USOE) into watering down education on climate change.
On Friday, Dec. 4, the USOE will vote on the language that will be used to create the education standards regarding the climate crisis.
The USOE will vote on the scientific standards at its meeting on Dec. 4. (State Office of Education Bldg, 250 East 500 South, SLC). Public comment begins at 8:00 a.m. E-mails of Board members are below. Tell them to teach our kids actual 21st century science, specifically that CO2 emissions from human activity, especially burning fossil fuels, is the primary driver of the greatest threat to our future, the rapidly developing climate crisis.
