2023 People’s Great Salt Lake Summit on Saturday July 15: Will provide information, inspiration, and action to save Great Salt Lake

Hundreds of Utahns will come together Saturday, July 15 from 10 am -3 pm at the 2023 People’s Great Salt Lake Summit to discuss ways to save the lake.  This free event will provide participants with an opportunity to hear from experts on a variety of issues related to the lake, discuss policy solutions, and create action plans to ensure the lake is protected.   Great Salt Lake is in crisis. After rising to 4,194 feet with snowmelt runoff, 8 feet below 4200 feet which is considered a healthy level, the lake level has plateaued and will start to decline again. The low level of the lake is causing the collapse of the Great Salt Lake ecosystem and the exposed lakebed is generating toxic dust which is blowing on communities surrounding the lake.
