TRAX expansion in the works
A sunny spot in the daunting news of the Utah legislative session, is that TRAX is getting a much needed expansion! While TRAX has served as a great way to get around downtown, it hasn’t always been the easiest and most accessible for the surrounding neighborhoods.
UTA is looking to add 8 new stations, deeper into the University of Utah and increasing westside accessibility. UTA says the changes will make the whole system both faster, and more environmentally friendly.
Expanding our public transportation system is a great way to both reduce pollution and increase quality of life for residents. TRAX tends to have some of the highest pollution benefits in the UTA system, but it depends on ridership to do so. We urge you to look into TRAX options near you. Increasing ridership increases the demand for a better system, while benefiting local air quality, especially during winter inversions!
