We need your help speaking out against a dangerous bill that favors industry at the expense of public health and the environment. A Senate Committee is hearing the bill Wednesday, February 12th at 2 PM. See details on how to speak out below.
Join us and our partners on the Stop the Polluting Port Coalition Wednesday, February 12th at 1 PM in the Hall of Governors ahead of the committee’s hearing on the bill, which will be in Senate Building Room 215.

Since its creation in 2018, the Utah Inland Port Authority (UIPA) has relied on legislation written in its favor to expand its reach and avoid accountability. Now, they’re at it again.
What would the bill do, exactly?
Senate Bill 239, sponsored by Senator Jerry Stevenson, would:
- Allow UIPA to withhold public information about businesses moving into project areas.
- Let UIPA spend taxpayer money on private projects outside existing boundaries without oversight.
- Remove restrictions on warehouse and distribution projects in contaminated areas.
- Restructure the UIPA Board to protect itself from legal challenges, shifting more control to political appointees.
